Interview with Kaseeno

Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

Growing up, I’ve always been into art. I’ve sketched, painted on canvas and had a desire for fashion and music. Throughout the years, my passion transitioned and gravitated towards music. The big turning point was, when I moved from New York to Miami and was able to finally experience the art of making music by recording my first song in a studio. Since then, my desire for making music and being a music artist has evolved into reality.

Can you share the most interesting story that happened to you since you started your company?

I think the most interesting thing that has happened continues to happen throughout our journey as a start-up. With new opportunities comes change thus allowing us to grow and graduate to the new phase. It’s interesting to see how our team has evolved. New faces with new energy with the same passion all heading in the same direction. Growth requires change.

Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?

I’ve am known to be able to rap whenever, wherever. It has always come easy to me, but when I had my first studio session I completely choked and was not able deliver and record on beat. It was something new to me and I was not use to the environment and froze under the lights. I felt the pressure. But like everything else it’s about reputation and working on your craft. It’s considered a little inside joke for those that have been around.

What do you think makes your company stand out? Can you share a story?

At Arte Klub Music Group we allow our artist to be themselves. We believe in authenticity and being able to express your ideas in creative ways. We can make minor tweaks and adjustments with an artist but for the most part being an artist is being you. Those are all some of the core values of what we represent as a company. Many organizations set levels of expectation that require an artist to be someone that they are not, which is very marketable for that particular time but is the artist truly happy or just going through the motion and awaiting for the muppet master to pull their string so they can move.

None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story?

There have been several inspirations in my life. But Shuseki Shihan William Oliver have been one of them that set the foundation. He was my karate instructor, but also a strong father figure. He taught me discipline, respect, and most importantly the will power to never give up and understanding the power of helping others. Those core values have stayed with me to this day, and definitely set the foundation for my character. I observe a person’s character by the way they treat and speak to others. Their actions speak volume.

How have you used your success to bring goodness to the world?

I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to help those by providing them with the hands-on experience to be part of a project. Many of these individuals have been overlooked and labeled not qualified enough in the music industry. It’s a true gift to be able to help others, but it also has it’s disadvantages as well. You really can’t measure and see a person’s heart and true intentions until they are in a position of freedom and power. As a soon as a person has a little bit of experience, which is considered power in the music industry they change.  They change for the good or bad, but as long as I know that I’ve provided them this opportunity to do so… that’s all that matters to me.

Do you have a favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share a story of how that was relevant to you in your life?

M

y father would always quote Bruce Lee “ Empty  your mind, be formless, shapeless like water if you put water in the cup it becomes the cup and water can flow or it can crash. “

Being able to adapt to a changing environment is key. Every problem has a solution and with every action and a re-action. In order to find it, you need to be open minded (formless) by adapting to the situation.

What are your “5 things I wish someone told me before I started my company” and why. Please share a story or example for each.

I would not like to change anything in my past experiences because it has been part of my journey and has molded me to the person I am today. But if I were to provide some cheap sheets with five tips to follow I would say the following:

  • Be involved with everything. Yes everything! You should know the everything about your business and what it entails. I would never ask someone to do something that I could not do myself.
  • No Short Cuts Allowed. There is no need to cut corners and rush into anything. Rushing leads to lack of preparation, which could impact your only opportunity to make that initial impression. The music you put out there stays out there, so do the time when it comes to effort.
  • Effort. No Sleep. Don’t be satisfied with your project and think that you’ve done enough. Keep working until it’s time to look up…when it that time? I don’t know yet but in the meantime keep working.
  • Balance. Work and family life is important. There a balance and sense of tranquility knowing that you loved and appreciated by not just your customers, fans and partners but also by your family. Family is important and their love is like no other.
  • Faith. Faith with believing in higher power and knowing that you are following the right path. Seeing is believing right? I think believing is seeing. I’m big on positive energy. What I put out, I attract.

You are a person of great influence. If you could start a movement  that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger. 🙂

Music drives emotions and tends to be a direct reflection of ones self image at that particular moment. Fans tend to fall in love with a particular artist that they can relate to, thus creating a spiritual connection. But if we are a nation of equality and change why not have that particular artist jump into a different genre of music and perform something out of the norm, which would allow their fans to both see and hear and experience a different emotion, which is music.
