Interview with Akash Kapoor – India’s leading wildlife photographer

Akash Kapoor talks about himself & wildlife, Recently Akash Kapoor has been Interviewed By one of our editor –

When did you first realize to select wildlife photography?

After my 10th standard exams. Around 2012 I realize I was drawn towards more and more towards wildlife.

How much difficulties have you faced to become a wildlife photographer?

Wildlife is one of the challenging photography , One needs to have good strength and energy to carry the gears and to spend lot of time in outdoor .Weather was constraint, most of the time shooting will be extreme heat or cold , Once you get used to it then it is “way of life” .

Which one is your favorite shot from your portfolio ?

Have many Favorite Image, selecting one would be tough. Snail in its habitat in the backdrop full of mountains and clouds from Dehradun is one of my favorite shot.

What is your opinion about Indian Wildlife conservation?

Conserving Wildlife Habitats are important to balance the biodiversity. Wildlife and forests are providing resources to mankind, food fuel, shelter, medicines. Gives life Supporting system clean air, water and fertile soil. What is happening our nature and forest like deforestation improperly; planned development systems poaching demand for the endangered animals, increasing market demands for forest products, pressure from agriculture and grazing, unregulated tourism are all taking a heavy toll in wildlife & forest. Though the government and few NGO are working on it, more awareness required. That we have to realize for future generation we need to preserve our fauna and flora.

Which is your favorite bird sanctuary?

Bharatpur is one of my favorite bird sanctuary. It is a paradise for bird watchers and photographers. Winter it the park is full of migratory water fowls and summer you find lot like e.g.: resident bird’s activity. Good place for photography and with excellent hotspots for bird activity.

If not a wildlife Photographer what would you be?

Fashion Designer.

Three Things not many People know about you?

I love to play table tennis other than wildlife parks. I also love to learn new IT technologies and Cooking in free time.
