With the turn of the century, online-based digital technologies became increasingly incorporated into practices of enterprises, and consequentially slowly started changing the landscape of the business world. About a decade into the 21st century, with spreading digital presence, the social media networks took the world by storm, providing the freedom of expression and networks to individuals and diverse communities. Today these platforms have become a cynosure of life for the children as well as the oldest, covering all demographics. In October 2010, when Instagram was launched for iOS by Kevin Systrom and Mike Kreiger as photo and video sharing social media service, nobody could have imagined that Instagram will emerge as a significant player in this industry. It won’t be wrong to say that today Cristiano Ronaldo’s 230 million followers Instagram is as much a triumph over his arch-rival Lionel Messi as much his one more Champions Trophy win. Instagram not only helped celebrities like Ariana Grande, Kylie Jenner, and Kim Kardashian to reach new heights of fame but also helped many obscure but ambitious creative people, content creators, and entrepreneurs to find success and prominence. However, becoming an Instagram success is not a walk in the park or a bed of roses. One of the first, most essential requisites, of course, is to consistently and persistently increase your Instagram reach. But obviously, it is much easier to be said than being done. But here are some implementable modus operands to effectively increase your Instagram reach.

1. Find The Best Time To Post : 

There is a saying who saw the peacock dancing in the jungle. What it means is that your work is not of much significance if there are no bystanders to witness and appreciate it. The same is true for the Instagram world. Before posting your content, you should have the appropriate knowledge of the time when most of your followers are active. You can go to insights to do so. If you can determine the time period when most of your followers are diligent, then posting within that fertile window will give you much more eyeballs than other times, and thus, posting will be much efficient.

2. Post more videos instead of photos : 

A study of the Instagram accounts of 31 news publishers clearly shows that videos get much more comments compared to still photos. This can be due to the more interactive and engaging nature of videos that have more of the entertainment quotient. Comments and likes both are counted as engagement and if any post gets more meetings, the reach is boosted. And it has been seen that photos generate more likes than comments. But comments are more beneficial for reach as compared to likes. So, whenever possible and if it does not adulterate the nature of your content it is always advised to refrain from posting photos and post videos instead.

3. Post stories such as polls, quizzes, etc to engage your audience 

Numerous studies in different fields like education, entertainment, corporate, etc. have revealed that there is no better way to grab the attention of your target audience than to make the interaction as engaging and interactive as possible. We have even seen innovative ideas such as interactive trailers and classes enjoying huge success. Likewise, in order to engage your audience as much as possible, you should make them feel involved and allow them to interact with you with stories such as online polls and quizzes. Implementing this is sure to increase your views by at least two times and guarantee much more swipe ups.

4. Try to get maximum engagements on your post within 30 minutes of posting

If your post gets more likes, comments, shares, saves ( engagements ) within 30 mins of posting,. Instagram recognizes it as a high-quality post and the reach of the post increases organically. Here the 1st point of this article comes into play, if you post at the time when most of your followers are active, you will surely get much more engagements within 30 minutes of posting. And naturally, if the post gets engagement, the reach will be boosted. The post may go the explore page and the post will get a lot of impressions or reach.

5. Use of hashtags

Hashtags are a very important facet of Instagram and are one of its very popular features. They are like arrows in the quiver of a content creator but one needs to be cautious using them. 

You should refrain from using irrelevant and repetitive hashtags as it doesn’t do any good. Upon doing this your Instagram profile may also get a shadowban. Make sure you do significant keyword research before putting relevant hashtags. If your profile has more than 100-150k followers, you may use high volume tags. Otherwise, try to use hashtags that don’t have more than 70-80k posts. If you don’t have a very large number of followers, it is unlikely that using high volume hashtags will do any good for your content.
