Starting early

The recipe for success is to do what you must to achieve it, no matter how you feel at the moment. A staunch believer in discipline and dedication, Derek knew he had to start early. He kept going until he reached his goals. Still, he never stopped. At the age of 19, Derek quit his last job as a manager at a Walmart store in Illinois. Since then, he has focused on building his wealth coaching business and several other successful ventures. “I had never set out to be a business coach. I continued building my wealth for the first 33 years of my life. The idea of helping others with business decisions hadn’t occurred to me until 2007. A friend of mine owned and ran a self-help company, and invited me on his board of advisors. And soon, we grew it to an 8-figure annual revenue business.”

Building on the winning streak

Derek continued to build ultra-profitable businesses in various fields, including two of his own national and international multi-million-dollar property management companies. He had the right skill set and worked hard to excel. Before Derek knew it, the word of his expertise had spread. Soon, people from all over the world started contacting him. Without ever seeing him in person, and only by listening to his audio interviews, people wanted to learn about his role in that business, work with him, and grow their wealth. “I knew I could help people in solving their financial problems, and they knew it too. I wanted my clients to win, and they could see it. The demand for my coaching grew manifold, and in a couple of years, I built my wealth coaching company into a 7-digit business. Next, I went on to build my most recent, multimillion-dollar live seminar, and digital business training company.”

Mastering the art of ‘Distressed Investment’

After Derek built successful businesses by profitable real estate investments, he continued multiplying his net worth by championing the stock market, during and after the last recession. “I’ve bought and flipped land and homes, and have invested in other people’s commercial and residential property developments. I love experimenting with distressed investing in quality real-estate.” Derek advises his friends and clients and enables them to think more clearly so that they can make more money with their investments.

Prioritizing your long-term results over your short-term feelings

It is either serious business or no business with Derek. He is a tough-love mentor, invests 100 percent in his clients’ victory, and expects them to put in the same effort. “I am action and result oriented. I inform my clients upfront that when they work with me, they won’t be pampered. Although they might not like what they hear, I value their long-term, specific goals.
