How Chris Cunningham Went From Small Town To Big Business

Chris Cunningham is the Vice President of Business Development at Elevator Studio and runs massive influencer marketing campaigns for Dan Blitzerian’s Ignite, LYFT, 1st Phorm, and more.

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur?

I’m from a small town that only knows one way of living. Things are simple and people accept life as it is rather than dream big.. People are quick to notice my accent and ask where I’m from.I love being different and the perspective I keep with me from growing up where I did will always be an advantage in my eyes. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to learn how to live differently from everyone I saw growing up.

When was a time you came close to giving up?

I put a lot of my money into an app called Mimri (Different way of say memory) and we started off with a great buzz and promise! Two months later Snapchat created the”Memories” feature and we lost everything. At that point, I thought this whole idea of working on my own terms might be over and I’d have to go back to working in the corporate world.

Do you have any advice for others looking to do what you’ve done?

Add value to the most successful people you can get in front of. They will put you way farther ahead than any education you will find anywhere else. Honestly I’m only where I’m at from a mix of that and consistent hard work.
