What’s your backstory?

I built a mortgage company from 6 people to 250+ employees and 10 offices before things crashed in 2008. The loss of my mortgage company took everything I owned including my self-esteem and self-worth along with it.

I knew I wanted to create my “entrepreneurial dream” and began a mission that would end up taking me a decade to complete. I spent 10,000+ hours and invested over $200,000 while I built 50+ brands that built all of my skills and character before discovering myself along the journey.

What made you decide to choose this career path? 

In creating brands for others I fell in love with watching them impact their niche and have success. My rush has always come from helping others. Now I get to do that daily with the Mike Young Made Over book, our programs, trainings, The Made Over Podcast and events. I love what I do with mentoring, coaching and strategy with clients in our complete brand makeover experience.

 

Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?

I thought I knew what I was doing. Looking back, that was pretty funny. The truth is this rabbit hole runs deep and never ends. I’ve learned there is always someone who’s done more, knows more, and been there before. I’ve learned that you need to fall in love with the process because the magic at the end of the rainbow is an illusion that will keep you trapped and striving for years if you think there is an end.

 

What do you think makes your company/personal brand stand out?

We don’t really do branding actually. We change lives. So many out there have their programs and products but don’t actually give a shit about the client. All I care about is results and that our clients get the business and life they deserve. Changing lives and helping others get what they want and deserve is all that matters to me.
