Dylan Bostic Shares What It Takes To Become a Pro Wrestling Star

Dylan Bostic is an American professional wrestler. He is currently signed to Ohio Valley Wrestling where he became a one-time OVW Television Champion and one-time OVW Southern Tag Team Champion. I sat down with him to find out how he has become one of wrestling’s most popular superstars.

Here’s what he shared with me.

1) Tell us about the moment in life you realized you wanted to be a professional wrestler.

Bostic: it was the first time I saw pro wrestling on TV I was 4 years old. I might not have known at that moment I was going to grow up one day into a full size human haha but I was instantly hooked and obsessed.

2) Being a wrestler is in many ways like being an entrepreneur. How are they similar and what have you realized about the business side of wrestling after being in the game for so many years?

Bostic: Being a professional wrestler you have to be an entrepreneur or you won’t succeed. You are your brand. If you give your brand everything you have 100% of the time people will believe the hype and will buy-in. People will buy tickets and merchandise. That is how you make money!

3) You’ve developed a massive following on social media. How has that benefited your wrestling career?

Bostic: Everywhere I go people know me. If I perform at a new company I have never been people know me and buy merchandise.

4) What tips do you have for young wrestlers who want to follow in your footsteps?

Bostic: You better have thick skin. Coming up the way I have has been filled with a lot of haters and negative energy. You have to block out all of the negative noise and just find self-confidence.

5) Who are your mentors and what have they meant you? Shout them out!

Bostic: Rip Rogers is my biggest mentor. Rip lived and trained with Randy Savage which is my favorite wrestler of all time. Rip has trained a ton of the top guys in this business. Rip has treated me like a son even has people convinced I am his son, haha but this man has taught me so much and I am grateful to be trained the right way and have a high wrestling IQ.
