Catching the attention of Lindsay Lohan herself- DJ Nick Stracener shares his story

So I saw on your Instagram that your latest remix of Lindsay Lohan’s new single “Back to Me” caught the attention of Lindsay herself?

Yes, in fact that was probably one the coolest moments I’ve ever experienced. A friend of mine actually reached out to me and said that he loved my remix and knew Lindsay on a personal level. He asked if I cared if he sent my remix to her. The next thing you know she responded with a video message and told me how much she loved it. It was super kind of her to do that and to support the LGBT community.

What are your plans next and do you think the dj industry will recover?

I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing and making music and encouraging everyone to use precaution if they have to leave their house for any reason. I tell everyone to have a dance party in their bedroom and to join me on my live stream and we will have a good time! I’m taking it day by day in regards to gigs and still have a couple this fall that have not been cancelled so I’m really hoping that everything is squared away by then, but safety is the number one priority. I do think the dj industry will recover but it might take longer than most people are expecting. I say prepare for the worst, and hope for the best.

How have you managed to stay relevant while in quarantine?

That’s a struggle for sure but I have just continued to make music and I’ve even broadcasted live a few times on social media.  I also donated all tips received from my live stream to dj’s that are in need of financial help the most.

So tell me about that, how did Covid affect you?

Well not only did it affect me in the airline industry with a loss of flying it also caused all of my bookings to cancel. I was just starting to get booked and had several gigs coming up in places like Los Angeles, Dallas, Toronto, and even San Juan Puerto Rico. Yeah two international gigs and one was going to be my first festival.
